Green Bay, Wisc. – February 8th 2008 -- A $1,000 cash contribution to Paul’s Pantry from LDI Composites was announced today. The money will be used to purchase food products for people in need in Brown County.
Speaking for LDI Composites, maker of GeoDeck composite decking, Burl W. Boone Jr. said,”Our Community Action Team applied for this grant from our parent company because we believe so very strongly in the work of Paul’s Pantry.”
In addition to the cash contribution, LDI Composites last fall donated nearly 2,500 pounds of food to the pantry and its employees have volunteered to staff Paul’s Pantry, where families can choose needed food supplies.
According to Craig Robbins, Director of Paul’s Pantry, “This partnership with LDI Composites is exactly the type of thing that low-income families in our area need. LDI has food drives, they volunteer to staff the pantry, and now they have given cash that helps us purchase nutritionally important perishables – such as eggs and milk.”
Boone and Robbins encourage other companies to engage in meeting the most basic of needs for low-income families – feeding the family.
LDI Composites, located at 1518 South Broadway in Green Bay, employs 56 people and manufactures GeoDeck composite decking made from plastic and paper waste products as an alternative to wood. It is a subsidiary of Liberty Diversified Industries of Minneapolis.
Paul’s Pantry, located at 1529 Leo Frigo Way, and has served Brown County residents since 1984.
