LDI Receives Prestigious Jefferson AwardDate : 01/25/2011
The Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal has selected Liberty Diversified International (LDI) to receive a Jefferson Award for Corporate Giving – a part of the nationally recognized Jefferson Awards for Public Service. LDI was selected because of the time, talent and energy the company and its people dedicate to local charitable causes.
The Jefferson Awards are a prestigious national recognition system honoring community and public service in America. They serve as a “Call to Action for Volunteers” in local communities, encouraging and honoring individuals and companies for their community service. The Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal is one of several media partners across the country coordinating local Jefferson Awards.
According to LDI president and CEO Mike Fiterman, “It is wonderful to receive this recognition, but the people of LDI know what’s most important – that the company and its employees reach out to help people in our communities who need help.”
LDI community activities recognized in the Business Journal article announcing the award included company sponsorship of fresh produce for food shelves and meal deliveries to senior citizens. Other LDI community programs include support for Habitat for Humanity, United Way, Toys for Tots, Ronald McDonald House and dozens more. For the 2010 holiday season, LDI adopted a “pay it forward” concept, sending signed but undesignated checks as gifts to its employees, valued customers and suppliers. The recipients signed the checks over to community causes, including families needing assistance.
