Celebrating Earth Day
A letter from Jenny Lindstrom, Chief Legal and Sustainability Officer

Today, people around the world celebrate Earth Day—and we’re proud to join them.
Our company was founded on the principle of sustainability. In 1918, Jack Fiterman became a pioneer in sustainable business operations by recycling wooden boxes, burlap bags, and bushel baskets.
Our ESG strategy is built on the legacy he began. In 2025, we formalized our commitment with the launch of our 10-year sustainability targets — measurable, impact-driven objectives that reflect our dedication to the planet, our people and communities, and sound governance.
Our efforts include:
- Strengthening our commitment with sustainability certifications and standards for sustainable forestry products*
- Improving resource management and efficiency
- Designing more sustainable products
- Conserving water resources
- Embracing circularity, reducing waste, and enhancing product lifecycle management
- Raising awareness and expanding environmental education
Sustainability is not just part of our strategy, but a reflection of who we are and the future we are building together. Through our efforts, we’re upholding our core values of Caring, Innovation, Trust, and Excellence.
Today, I encourage you to pause for a moment to think about an action you can take to make a brighter future.
*This year Liberty Packaging’s EcoVadis score increased by 20 points, and they received their SFI® Sourcing Certification. See our other progress in our most recent annual report.
